Where to get a ARM toolchain?
Download a prebuilt toolchain
You can find http://sourcery.mentor.com/public/gnu_toolchain/arm-none-linux-gnueabi/ more or less recent toolchains.
Download the .tar.bz2 file.
Uncompress it:
# tar -xvjf arm-2009q3-67-arm-none-linux-gnueabi-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2
Create a file named: /home/$USER/.cross_compile that contains:
export ARCH=arm export CROSS_COMPILE=/home/georges/tools/toolchain/arm-2009q3/bin/arm-none-linux-gnueabi
Each time, you need to build a software with this toolchain, you just have to source it.
Use the Android Build System toolchain
If you are building Android, you can find it here: prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/arm/arm-eabi-4.6/bin/.
