Fish oil is a source of omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

The recommended daily intake is 250-500mg for EPA and DHA. The maximum daily intake is 2g for EPA and DHA combined.

It requires 2000mg to have an anti-inflammatory benefit.

Fish oil has numerous claimed benefits:

  • decrease anxiety
  • improve cardio-vascular health
  • improve join health

The main risk with fish oil is that can oxidized and go rancid if it has not been properly packaged inside pills. And rancid fish oil is toxic.
